Our Pathology Services
Welcome to LSU Health Shreveport
Welcome to the Department of Pathology at Louisiana State University Health Shreveport. The Department of Pathology is composed of an outstanding faculty of 28 faculty members, 12 residents, 3 fellows, and almost 200 administrative and laboratory staff. We provide diagnostic services to patients within our hospital system and numerous patients regionally, nationally and internationally via our ever expanding Pathology Outreach Services program. We at LSU Health Shreveport Pathology Outreach Services realize that quality and efficiency are of the utmost importance in delivering the best care possible to your patients. Our employees continuously strive to ensure that each client receives the highest quality, accuracy, and technologically advanced services available. Most importantly, it is our commitment to providing a personal touch, range of services, and highly qualified personnel that sets us apart from other facilities.
Our Anatomic and Clinical Laboratories are CAP, AABB, FDA, and JCAHO accredited with all technical personnel being appropriately licensed both at the national and state level. Additionally, many technical personnel also possess a specialist license in their area of expertise. Our technical staff is trained in handling all accounts, regardless of size, in an individualized manner to insure that customer specifications are continuously achieved.
Our Anatomic Pathology Division and Clinical Pathology Division technical and administrative personnel are not only knowledgeable but highly experienced in their area of expertise and embrace a team approach to quality care, education and research.

LSU Health Shreveport has been awarded a five-year, $10.5 million Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) grant by the National Institutes of Health.
